EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), also known as “tapping,” is an evidence-based, highly effective therapy that helps regulate the nervous system, reduce emotional overwhelm, and restore a greater sense of balance and ease.

What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) involves lightly tapping on specific acupressure points on the face and body while bringing awareness to thoughts, emotions, or physical sensations. This helps calm the body’s stress response and allows emotional patterns to shift in a safe and supported way.

When the nervous system remains in a prolonged state of stress, it can affect emotional wellbeing, digestion, hormones, sleep, and energy levels. Stressful experiences can also shape neural pathways and belief patterns — and as research increasingly shows, the body can hold the imprint of unresolved emotional stress.

EFT helps the nervous system safely process these responses, allowing the brain and body to form new, more adaptive patterns and reducing emotional intensity.

Research has shown that EFT can reduce cortisol (the body’s main stress hormone) and improve symptoms of anxiety, stress, trauma, and physical pain. Clinical studies have shown outcomes comparable to established therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with improvements often occurring more rapidly for some individuals.

When working at a more advanced level, EFT can also be used to explore underlying emotional patterns and past experiences, allowing for deeper and more lasting change.

Many people report feeling calmer, clearer, and more settled after sessions, with a greater sense of balance and resilience.

My Approach

I offer EFT sessions in a supportive and confidential space, allowing you to explore emotional patterns safely and at your own pace.

As a former nurse and Advanced EFT and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner, I bring both clinical understanding and a compassionate, personalised approach to each session. Matrix Reimprinting is a technique that allows us to work with past experiences and gently reshape how they are held in the body and mind, often leading to deeper emotional resolution.

I also provide EFT within a leading UK functional medicine clinic, supporting individuals with complex and chronic health conditions, including cancer, as part of an integrated care approach.

Many clients notice a reduction in emotional intensity, greater clarity, and a deep sense of calm following sessions.

Standalone therapy or integrated support

EFT can be used as a standalone therapy for emotional wellbeing, or alongside nutritional therapy to support physical health conditions influenced by stress.

Some clients come to EFT with specific physical symptoms, while others are simply looking for support with anxiety, overwhelm, or life challenges.

Both options are available.

Professional accreditation

I am an Advanced EFT and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner (Level 3), accredited through EFT International, fully insured, and committed to ongoing professional development and supervision.

EFT is a complementary therapy and works well alongside conventional medical care.
